Romantique Books is your go-to destination for all things romance! We specialize in carefully curated romance novels, fun "Blind Date with a Book" surprises, stylish bookish apparel, and must-have reading accessories. Whether you're looking for a swoon-worthy read or the perfect gift for a book lover, we've got you covered!

Where are you located?

We are an online bookstore, so you can shop from the comfort of your reading nook! However, we do pop up at events and markets around Montgomery County Maryland—stay tuned to our social media or sign up for our newsletter to see where we’ll be next!

Why aren’t your prices lower?

As a small, independent bookstore, we don’t have the ability to buy books in massive quantities like big-box retailers do. That means we don’t get the same deep discounts, but every purchase you make supports a small business that truly cares about readers and authors. We carefully curate our selection and offer a personal touch that you won’t find at large chains. Plus, your support helps us continue to bring you fun bookish finds and unique gifts!

What is Bookshop.org?
Bookshop.org is an online bookstore created to financially support local, independent bookstores. Every purchase contributes to indie bookshops—either directly or through a shared earnings pool that benefits stores across the country. 

Does Romantique Books still benefit if I buy through Bookshop.org?
Yes! When you shop through our curated links and lists, we earn a small commission on your purchase—at no extra cost to you.

Will I still be able to shop blind dates and curated boxes?
Absolutely. Our Blind Date with a Book, certain special editions, signed copies, bookish gifts (along with stickers and bookmarks) and curated experiences are still available directly through Romantique Books—those aren’t going anywhere.

Am I still supporting independent bookstores?
Yes—and in a big way. Bookshop.org distributes a portion of every sale to independent bookstores, helping them thrive in an online world.

Do I need a separate account?
Yes, purchases through Bookshop.org are completed on their site, so you’ll check out there. It’s quick, secure, and supports indie bookstores with every order.

Orders & Shipping

Where do I buy what?

• Buy on Romantique Books (our website): Blind Date with a Book, curated boxes, special editions/signed copies (when available), gifts, stickers, bookmarks, apparel, and accessories.
• Buy on Bookshop.org (our curated shop): Most individual book titles (paperback/hardcover) you want us to recommend or link.
  When you use our Bookshop links, you’re still supporting Romantique Books—just with a smoother ordering experience.

Will my shipping/tracking come from Romantique Books or Bookshop.org?

• Romantique Books orders: You’ll get updates from us (and if you ever need help, email romantiquecrew@romantiquebooks.com).
• Bookshop.org orders: Bookshop will send your order confirmation + tracking directly, and their support team handles order changes, cancellations, and delivery issues.

Do you offer international shipping?

We currently ship within the U.S. and Canada!
We're thrilled to now offer shipping to our neighbors up north—hello, Canada! 🇨🇦 Please note that duties and taxes are not included at checkout and must be paid by the recipient upon delivery. We’re continuing to work on expanding even further, so stay tuned for future international updates!

Bookshop.org does not currently ship to Canada

How long does shipping take?

We process most orders Monday through Thursday and ship on Fridays (excluding holidays). Some items ship directly from our warehousing partners and are typically processed within 2–5 business days. Once shipped, most orders arrive within 5–10 business days—often sooner, depending on your location and selected shipping method.

Can I track my order?

Absolutely! Once your order ships, you'll receive a tracking number via email so you can follow its journey to your bookshelf. Orders from bookshop.org will receive tracking emails directly from them.

What do I do if my order is lost or damaged?

Oh no! We want to make this right. If your order is lost in transit or arrives damaged, please reach out to us at romantiquecrew@romantiquebooks.com with your order details, and we’ll work on a solution ASAP.

How does Blind Date with a Book work?

It’s simple (and so much fun)! You choose a general theme or vibe, and we send you a book wrapped in mystery—no spoilers! It’s the perfect way to discover new stories and authors you might not have picked yourself.

Can I request a specific book?

Blind Date with a Book is all about the surprise! While we don’t take specific requests, we carefully match you with something aligned to your selected vibe.

What if I already own the book I receive?

While we can’t guarantee you won’t get a book you already own, we do our best to mix things up. If you receive a duplicate, consider it a sign to share the love—gift it to a fellow romance reader!

Returns & Exchanges

Can I return or exchange a book?

Due to the nature of books and Blind Date with a Book surprises, all sales are final, with exceptions noted on the product pages. However, if you receive a damaged item, please reach out to us, and we’ll make it right.

What about returns for apparel and accessories?

We accept returns for unused/unworn apparel and accessories within 30 days of delivery. Please refer to our Returns and Refunds page for information and instructions.

Gifts & Special Requests

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Not at this time—but we’re always looking at ways to make gifting cuter and easier. If you're picking up locally, send us a note, we may be able to work something out for an additional charge.

Can I buy a gift card?
